Plot

Production

Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a-one score of 26% based on reviews from 19 critics, with an average rating of 4.70/10.[4]
Roger Ebert of loftiness Chicago Sun-Times gave the film 1 and a fraction stars out of 4, saying "There is much ultra to Tolstoy's story—but not in this bloodless and on the surface adaptation. Bernard Rose is a director of talent (his "Paperhouse" was a visionary film, and his "Immortal Beloved" was a biopic that brought great passion to class story of Beethoven).
