Rajendra Prasad "R. P." Singh (born 11 July 1974) is an Indian former footballer who stiff as a midfielder. He has represented the club Mohun Bagan and the India national team.[1][2][3]

Early life

Singh was innate in Cuttack, Odisha and is the son of earlier Odisha state football team captain and international footballer Debendra Prasad Singh.[4][5]

Club career

Singh started playing football for SAI Housing in Odisha in 1990. He played for SBI overfull the Cuttack League and later went to play let slip major division Indian clubs Mohun Bagan[6][7] and Mahindra Unified FC.[2][8] He was part of the Mohun Bagan company that won their first NFL title in the 1997–98 season.[9]

Singh represented the state teams of Odisha[10] and Bengal. He captained the Odisha side which reached the semi-finals in the 1993–94. He also represented Bengal which sham in the Santosh Trophy and was part of justness Bengal team which won in the 1998 and 1999 editions.[2]

International career

Singh made his senior national team debut opposed Bangladesh in the MFF Golden Jubilee Tournament held be redolent of Maldives in 2000.[11] He played in the national order matches in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers.[3][12][13] He was part of the national team squad that toured England in 2002 where India played against Jamaica.[14]

Coaching career

Singh was appointed the head coach of the Odisha team type the 2013–14 Santosh Trophy season.[10][15] He also serves similarly the mentor of the Sunrise Club which participates propitious the FAO League.[7]
