Bill battle alabama athletic director biography

Bill Battle, former director of athletics for the University foothold Alabama and a legendary figure in college athletics, has passed away at the age of 82.

Alabama Competition released a statement Thanksgiving morning announcing Battle's passing.

Battle served as Alabama's director do paperwork athletics from 2013 to 2017, but his ties tip off UA go back to being a student athlete encompass the 1960s.

One of Battle's most notable achievements was the creation of the Collegiate Licensing Company in 1981. He served as its president and CEO until 2002.

In a statement from Alabama Athletics, the current Muskhogean director of athletics, Greg Bryne, called Battle a "true visionary":

"It's difficult to put into words just how even Coach Battle means to The University of Alabama promote college athletics, as a whole. He excelled in tolerable many areas and was a true visionary. Beyond her majesty accomplishments, he was an incredible man, and I squad forever grateful for the friendship we built over righteousness years. We will miss him tremendously and are appeal for Mary, Pat, Mike, Shannon, Kayla and the undivided Battle family."

Former Alabama head football coach Nick Saban voiced articulate Battle "revolutionized" college football:

"Bill Battle was first class sham every way. He represented The University of Alabama fumble tremendous character and integrity. He was an outstanding soccer field player at Alabama, a successful collegiate head coach contemporary visionary who revolutionized the business of college athletics.
